Q Do your courses teach graphic design or how to utilize Macintosh graphic design software?
A Our courses teach how to use the Macintosh software in order to bring layout, design, and animation principles from concept to a practical implementation. Graphic design is a specialized talent and not every person can produce superior visual presentations. However, we do provide samples and demonstrate sound principles common to clean professional looking output.

Q My office has both Macintosh and IBM PC’s. When I attend a SYS-ED Macintosh Learning Center course will my skills be transferable and will I be able to do my layout and graphic design work interchangeably on either platform?
A For the most part, yes. The software companies such as Adobe and Corel have designed their software to be essentially identical across systems and for file formats to be interchangeably used. Naturally, we recommend that you specify which platform – PC or Macintosh that you will be doing your work on and that you attend a SYS-ED course on that platform. FYI, the same concept applies to the release of the product.

Q I am looking to make a career change in order to enter the field of graphic design. Does SYS-ED’s Macintosh Learning Center offer any integrated training programs?
A Yes, we have several graphic design and multimedia training programs:

Multimedia Professional Program Graphic Specialists Program
Design Essentials Program Web Graphics Essentials Program
Professional Development Program Master Graphics and Multimedia Program
Digital Video Developer Program Web Master Program
Web Design Professional Program Multimedia Essentials Program

For additional information on the modules and number of hours which comprise a Macintosh program, type Macintosh program in the search engine field.

Q I have been hired by a mid-sized company to design and implement an E-commerce web site. How can SYS-ED’s Macintosh courses help me to build the website?
A We have the specialized courses to teach you the techniques for superior creative graphic design. However, an E-Commerce site is more than simply the graphics and sizzle. An E-Commerce site will require:
  1. The appropriate selection of the operating system, web server, and database engine.
  2. Sound visual design which mirrors the business model of the E-commerce site.
  3. Concise instructions explaining how to use and navigate the individual pages which comprise the website.
  4. Documentation which will provide the framework for the website to evolve to meet the requirements of your clients.
  5. Search Engine Optimization techniques which allow your site to rank high in the Search Engine listings.

We offer courses and training programs in each of these areas.
